In FCSDC’s 100-year history serving residents of Delaware County, fighting hunger and food-insecurity has always been an integral part of our mission – the Mobile Pantry Program is one way we carry out that mission.
What is it?
The FCSDC Mobile Pantry is a supplemental food resource that provides home-delivered boxes containing shelf-stable grocery items that require minimal preparation. The contents are comparable to what would be received at a community-based food pantry. From time to time, fresh produce, dairy, and meats are available.
Who is eligible?
Low-income Delaware County residents who have limited mobility outside of their home due to disability, age, or illness or individuals and families experiencing homelessness who have been temporarily placed in a motel.

Program Background:
In April 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, FCSDC implemented home delivery of food boxes for low-income Delaware County residents who were quarantined due to exposure, symptoms, or infection or who were at greater risk leaving their homes during the pandemic due to age or underlying health conditions and had no other means of getting food.
FCSDC recognized that a large number of those served by this program had food insecurity and limited access before COVID and that their needs would continue after COVID. In July 2021, we revised the program guidelines and the program continues as the FCSDC Mobile Pantry.
FCSDC has a history of service and a background of partnership with county and community organizations in our region. Click here to view the Delaware County Interfaith Food Assistance Network (DIFAN) Hours of Operation.
The program was inspired by actions taken by our agency in response to the 1918 Influenza Epidemic.
